We have so many deer in our woods. If we walk the trail at sundown, we always see at least a few. There is even a "deer crossing" sign near our house. Last December, a baby dear was trapped in our backyard. (You can see the actual photo on the 12/18/08 post.) Linda and Tierney were freaking out. The fawn jumped over a 6' fence to get in the yard and for some reason, could not figure out how to jump out. Luckily, I was not out in the yard at the time. In Massachusetts, a cross deer went off on a dog when it came into his backyard with it's two fawns. Zeke the dog just started barking and WHAM! The deer started stomping poor Zeke almost to death. The human ran out to save Zeke, but not before Zeke was so wounded that he had to spend the night in the vet emergency room. He'll make a complete recovery, thank goodness.
