Linda has stopped carrying her iPhone on our trail walks. She wonders if this is a good idea, but usually she does not have pockets big enough to store it. Since she has to carry us across all the streams, she is afraid she'll drop it in the water. Plus, it's nice to know she'll be totally undisturbed with work calls. Today, she wishes she had it just for the camera. There was a gang (gaggle? swarm? flock?) of giant crows that were fighting it out in the skies above the trees. They were Caw-Cawing so loud that it was deafening. Some even swooped down within 25 feet of us chasing each other. If you looked up, the trees were just full of huge black birds. Linda had a very Alfred Hitchcock moment and thought about ducking for cover. We were never in danger of being pecked to death, but it was eerie. She also stopped on one of the rocks in the middle of the stream to really look at the water. There are tons of tiny fish that we never noticed before. Usually, we are watching for snakes since that is where they usually hangout. Early this morning it was way to chilly for them to be moving about. We didn't see one deer, dog, squirrel or person during the entire trail walk. I think the birds scared them all away.
P.S. Did you know that in the movie "The Birds" Alfred Hitchcock actually had a cameo? We are going to see if it's on netflix and watch it tonight. P.S.S. A group of crows is called a murder! If she knew that, she would have left the trail immediately. Wiki said a group of crows could kill a cow!!
