According the the American Kennel Club, dog thefts have increased 32% over last year. Dogs are being stolen from peoples own yards, cars (who leaves a dog in the car?), dog parks, pups that are left tied up outside of a store and even right from peoples arms! This is just terrible. Of course some if it is common sense... like not leaving your dog unattended or running loose. Linda is a little concerned about Chim on the deck. She is going to get a giant lock for our gate on the 6 foot fence. That might slow someone down and make them think twice about dog napping Chim. Of course they would probably bring him back the same day because he is a "special" dog. Twice during our walks Linda has been hyper-alert over suspicious looking people. Once, a van stopped and pulled up to us to ask what kind of dog I was. Another time a man came out of a van and scooped Chimmie up to hug him. Linda was like "Sir, put my dog down... NOW!" It would have gotten ugly if he did not obey her. The theives are stealing the dogs and then selling them to make money.
