Do Dogs Have Souls?
A New York judge is ruling over a civil suit bought by a dog owner who wants to change the law that pets are considered "property." The lady, who I'll call Wanda, contends that pets are not "property" like a boat or a camera, but are living creatures who feel pain, love, sadness and happiness. Wanda bought a puppy that has serious medical problems from a pet store. The store got their dogs from one of those horrendous puppy mills that supply stores with sick, broken and over-bred dogs. After only owning the down a few months, the little pup developed severed hip and knee issues. Wanda already spent $4,000 on one surgery and is schedule for another $4,000 surgery in the coming months. Wanda wants the pet store to be libel for selling her the poor, broken pooch. New York has a "puppy lemon law" that lets you return a dog in 14-days, but that is it. Unfortunately, the puppy will never be able to walk normally even with the surgeries. I agree the pet store is libel, but Do Dogs really Have Souls? I don't think so, but The Bible does say there are animals in heaven because Jesus will be returning riding on a horse, so who really knows.
