I don't know why in the world Linda picked white carpet for our home knowing she had 2 dogs and at the time, 2 cats. She must have been crazy. But today, our white carpet is looking so much better. It was a big job, but Linda is glad she tackled it. First, she had to thoroughly vacuum with the Eureka! She did the entire upstairs carpet, dumped the canister, then did it again. It amazing how much dirt, dust and hair that vacuum actually picks up. She got about a cup full the second time and by the third time, it was ready for shampooing. A worker at Home Depot recommended an expensive professional strength cleaning solution made for tough stains. It cost twice as much as the normal brands, but it worked twice as good as the old stuff she was using, so it was worth it.
