My, What Big Teeth You Have |
We like having our pet chipmunk in the front flower beds. She has been there on and off, but since we rescued the babies a few months back the Mama is very bold. She sits up and looks in the glass storm door waiting for Linda to come out. Linda still can't get close to her, but Mama is pausing a little longer each time before she goes and hides. The biggest fear (besides our entire house foundation crumbling from their tunnels) is that the chipmunk will come inside while Linda has the door propped open carrying the groceries into the kitchen. Chimmie would catch her and shake the stuffing right out of her. Good bye Chipmunk. At least it wasn't a bear that came in through an open door. In Pennsylvania, a guy let his dog back into the house at 3:00 a.m. after hearing it barking like crazy. Not only did the dog come running inside, but a giant bear came charging in the house after the dog! The bear mauled two people in the home before it ran back out. They are in the hospital and will recover. I hope the rangers don't try and kill the bear when they find it. I'm sure she was just protecting her baby cubs from the dog. If a bear came in our house, Chip Cat would kill it for sure! She used to back down 90 pound Snickers and 75 pound Sheba at the same time when she was crabby. (For some stupid reason, our pictures are not loading so I can't put the photo up of Chip being Chip, instead.. this is exactly what she looks like when she is mad.)
