Don’t you know it’s bad luck to be superstitious?

Today is Friday the 13th. I am not superstitious, but some people are. There are superstitions about dogs from many countries that I want to share with you. Take them with a grain of salt but you better throw it over your shoulder first. *Meeting a spotted or black & white dog on the way to a business appointment is lucky. * Three white dogs together are a sign of good luck. *Dogs are believed to be able to foresee evil. * Dogs are capable of sensing supernatural influences like ghosts. (I believe this! Look back at my earlier entries.) *A howling dog at night is bad luck or a sign that someone close to you would die or become very sick. *Black dogs are considered unlucky. *A strange dog coming in to the house means new friends are coming. *A dog eating grass is a sign of rain. And my all time personal favorite, *A dog licking a baby will help the child heal faster. This is encouraging because we all know that you must keep cats away from babies because they "suck the breath" out of a child. By the way, we used to have a black cat named Licorice. Snickers told me he was a wonderful cat and not at all unlucky. Well, maybe his tumor wasn't so lucky... but everyone loved him.
