I try and keep these posts light and fun, but sometimes you just have to touch on a serious subject. There is a turtle who lives in the backyard pond of a man in China. One day, the man dropped a cigarette on the ground. The turtle came racing out of the water and finished the cigarette. Now, every time the man goes outside to smoke, the turtle lifts his head out of the water and stares. If the turtle does not get his fix, he crazily swims around and scratches the side of the pond. It won't stop until he gets his cigarette and bites the end of the butt... you can see the tip glowing. In four minutes, it is totally gone. The local animal control people want to have a talk with the man, but he says the turtle smokes voluntarily. Smoking is so dangerous. The smoker inhales 43 cancer-causing compounds and 400 other toxins that cause lung and throat cancer; heart disease, emphysema, bronchial and lung disorders. It's the leading cause of death, more than HIV, AIDS or famine causing more then 30 million deaths per year. Just say NO to Smoking.
