Paw prints in the snow |
We have a dusting of snow this morning. Linda found out about the snow at 3:00 a.m. when she had to drag herself out of her warm, comfy bed to let me outside. HELP! How does she train us not to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. She makes sure we go outside before bed, but one or both of us always get her up. I jump down off The Big Bed and shake my fur until she wakes up. Sometimes I have to whine a bit if she's really asleep. If she does not get up, I pee on the carpet which is NOT a good thing. She's tried the no water after a certain time, it does not matter. The only thing that seems to work for both of us is a really long walk right before bed and not just a backyard visit. In the nicer weather, that isn't such a hardship for Linda. In winter, getting redressed and layering on a bunch of coats, hats, mittens and scarves to walk us in the pitch-black cold is not high on her list of favorite things to do. In the summer, she looks forward to the 11 p.m. walks. It's so quite and the sky is sometimes just beautiful. Chimmie needed a push to go down the deck steps at 6:00 a.m. because now he is afraid of slipping ever since he got stuck in the middle of the steps on that icy night.
