After a 30 minute trouble-shooting conversation with the nice man at Home Depot, our garbage disposal still does not work. When he offered to come and fix it, Linda figured that he was being a little too nice so she took her tools and went home. He suggested running hot water for 2 minutes with Dawn dish detergent down the drain. That worked great on the clog! Next, he said to try the hex-wrench tool. Unfortunately, that didn't help. He told her that it was super easy to replace the whole unit and gave her a detailed step-by-step instructions which totally went right over her head. A plumber costs 5x the amount of the actual disposal, so she is not going to go that route. There
has to be someone who can help her.... right? (hint, hint) Now that it is not clogged, there isn't a rush to replace it.
