There are not words to explain how happy I am that Linda gave away her pet snake before I came to live here. I would NOT have liked having a snake in the house. She said Rocky was really a wonderful python. Beautifully colored and over 4 feet long. He really loved Linda in his snaky way. One of his favorite things to do was wrap around her neck and shoulders when she was vacuuming. The vibration of the vacuum made him happy. He also loved to drape around her body and sit out on the deck in the hot sunshine. When he was feeling really affectionate, Rocky would take his head and rub it back and forth across her cheek. Taking him out of his pen was always a little scary though. He lived in a 3x5 foot cage. If she opened the trap door, he thought food was coming in and once in a while he would strike. In all the years she had him, he never bit her though. Everyone says snakes are not wired to care about their humans, but Linda disagrees. She eventually had to get rid of him. One day he escaped when she did not latch the door securely. She caught him minutes before he was about to eat her kitten. Rocky had Pumpkin cornered and was standing up ready to strike. After that episode, Rocky went to live with another snake named Adrian and lived a very long happy life.
