Hawk Bait

Maybe Linda should reconsider leaving Chimmie outside alone while she is gone. He is a big Chihuahua, but still a small dog. After reading this tonight, it might not be wise to leave him unsupervised. A mini poodle was picked up and almost eaten by an eagle. The bird swooped down, picked up Peanut with its giant talons and flew over the house. The eagle dropped the dog and started to dive back to pick it up. The owner started throwing things at the eagle and screaming at it. Little Peanut lived, but has 8 puncture wounds and is now fighting a serious infection. We have had a hawk sit on our fence and it carried away one of Linda's pet chipmunks. (She saw it with her own eyes too!) Since we don't have eagles near us, she is going to research what size prey hawks go after. I say we just leave Chip cat out there as bait and we can test it. Chip and Chimmie weigh just about the same.
