Maybe this is above and beyond the call of duty, but I love it. Some firefighters raced to a burning home last week, relieved to find that no one was trapped inside. They did find a tiny baby gray kitten lying almost dead right inside the front door. The wonderful fireman scooped him up, gave him oxygen and carried her to the back of the ambulance. The kitty responded to the fresh air, but they took her to the vet anyway for additional treatment. Her owner who lost everything (including two other pets) in the fire, has been told to take her time retrieving the kitten from the vet. The paramedics and EMT staff has continued to visit the kitty at the vet while she waits for her owner to find a new place to live.
