Happy Birthday America
I'm all for America and celebrating our country's birthday. Have a hot dog. Heat some potato salad. Play volleyball. Pray for all the men and women who are serving to keep our country free. Hey, you can even go to the 30 minute planned firework display that the PROFESSIONALS set off. There needs to be a law about people setting off fireworks in neighborhoods though. I hate them. Yuck and Double Yuck. Thankfully, all the fools setting them off went to bed or burned all their fingers off by 11:00 p.m. I had a blissful night sleep without any loud thunder booms. Tonight will be a different story. There isn't even anywhere Linda could take us that we wouldn't hear them go off. Maybe a Super-8 motel in the middle of nowhere or a Super-Hyatt hotel in the middle of a city where all the business will be closed and no Bottle Rocket's exploding over my yard. She has to teach at 9:30, then is off for the whole day. The church picnic might be in the gym and fellowship hall since it looks like it might rain. Emily's engagement pool party might be canceled if the predicted storms hit this evening. All in all, I don't think Linda will be gone too long today. Em did invite me to the party since her toy poodle will be there in the big fenced yard. I forgot her name (maybe Peaches?) but she is just like me... very laid back and calm. We get along great. This shot was from last years 4th of July picnic. I wonder what Sarah thinks is yucky?
