Penny's Birthday Hike

Penny did her first Tough Mudder event today!  Well, it wasn't a Tough Mudder, but she did go across a stream on a fallen log! Linda took a bunch of pictures of Taylor carrying her across, but for some reason, they are not on her phone.  About 1/2 way, they stopped to eat lunch by a pond.  (So maybe they were on private property, Donald Trumps golf course... but honest... there weren't any "do not enter/private property" signs when they came through the woods.)
No Fear
Penny loved sitting on the log by the Potomac River.  She even got her new Nike sneakers a little wet.
Happy first birthday Penelope!

Christina practically skipped across.

All the pictures of Linda crossing the stream and playing with Penny are on Sarah's camera, so we have to wait to upload them to the blog. Linda was very brave and crossed standing up.  At first she was going to sit on the log and slide across, but when she saw how easy Christina did it, she decided to give it a try.

There were some cool Civil War markers too.  It was really amazing to sit at the Potomac's edge and imagine the soldiers crossing the river at that exact spot.

Penny fell asleep on the way back to the car, and never woke up when Taylor took her out of the stroller and put her in the car seat.  What a fun birthday weekend she had!!
