Both Chimmie and I have these chips under our skin that can locate us if we ever get lost. A vet waves a magic wand over our back and Linda's name and address come up. I don't think it works in reverse though. If I got lost on the trail, Linda could not call the 1-800 number on the tracking device and have them tell her where I am. Maybe that will be changing. A company has designed a shoe with a GPS device implanted in the sole. They were original concept was for children after the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping, but they were instead designed for old folks with dementia and Alzheimer's. The shoes cost $300 a pair, but that is so worth it if you have someone you love that might wander off and get lost for days. Does anyone make something for pets like that? It could be built into our collars. If Linda had that when runaway Sheba the Husky used to live here, it would have saved her a ton of heart ache and money bailing him out of the dog pound. Sheba's eyes were really the most amazing shade of sky blue, but in every photo Linda has of her they are demon red. She was a willful, disobedient dog... the complete opposite of Snickers. Snickers loved her madly though, so Linda put up with her antics. She died from a blood issue years ago.
