We had an exciting walk tonight! Since daytime walks are not on the schedule because of the horrible heat, we are taking out walks at night. Linda got home early enough, so we got to walk on the trail before it got too dark. Before we even made it to the trail, a big black dog was running loose and started chasing us. Linda picked me up and just kept walking tall. I'm glad he did not attack. Just to be safe, Linda found a sturdy stick to finish the trail walk in case he came back and was hungry for a Choopie snack. A little while later we came up on a huge deer just a few feet from the trail. She just stood still and stared at us. When the deer got bored, she slowly ambled away. Lastly, there is a field near the end of the trail. A large hawk was just floating overhead looking for a meal. Linda picked me up again just to be on the safe side. We really need to get a big dog to keep us safe on our trail walks. I miss Snickers.
