Goodbye Sweet Frog

There are going to be some major diet changes in our house.  Linda said I'm getting too fat.  I know, how could 6.5 pounds be fat?... but it is for my body frame.  The other day she was trying to lean off the bed to pick me up with just one hand and I almost pulled her off the mattress. My big issue is special treats,  which Linda is going to stop.  I get lots of exercise, but I guess I could do more.  My little knees ache with extra weight.

Linda has never once eaten this meal in her whole life.

Linda also has to go on a diet.  All her life she has dieted to lose fat, but never for a health scare.  She got her blood work back from the Dr. and found out she has super high cholesterol!  She was so surprised because she doesn't think she fits the profile.  First, she's been a vegetarian for over 30 years.  She has eaten fish during that time, but no chicken, beef or pork. She rarely eats eggs because they give her the heebie-jeebies.   Second, she teaches 20 exercise classes a week.  Hard classes too like Body Combat, Body Pump, Cross Training, Sculpt... etc.  Third, Her meals consist of healthy grains, lots of beans, veggie burgers and tofu. Four, Her body mass index is in the normal range (although too high for her liking.)  Five, She walks a slew of miles with us on the trail. Six.  Her blood work showed her Trans Fats were really low. She thought high Trans Fats/cholesterol went hand in hand?  (Linda laughed when she spelled cholesterol wrong and spell check wanted to make it schoolmaster.)

So what's the deal?  It's got to be desserts, Sweet Frog and cheese. Oh, and french fries.  Luckily, she  decided to give all those things up yesterday, even before she got the results.   Today, she had a kale/fruit smoothie for breakfast and a salad...no cheese :( for lunch.  Even though she usually eats a lot of oatmeal, she is going to up her servings and add some healthy nuts and blueberries to it.  She'll also start brushing her fish with olive oil.
She always eats these healthy foods (except the tea)
I guess she better rush off to Trader Joes and buy herself a bar of dark chocolate to speed up her cholesterol lowering diet!
