What a Pain in the Neck!
This is a true story and not one I found on the Weekly World News web site. At least 38 people in Venezuela have died after being bitten by VAMPIRE BATS. The bat swoops down and takes a bite of the helpless victim. An anticoagulant in the saliva keeps the blood flowing while it laps up the blood with its tongue. The symptoms are just horrible. Imagine intense fever, body pains, tingling in the feet followed by paralysis, and an extreme fear of water. Finally, you go into convulsions and grow rigid before you die. Not only do the bats fly, but they can run almost 5 miles per hour! They need to drink blood once every few days. If they can't find any blood, they go to each other for food donations. They lock lips (like kissing) and the full bat spits blood into the hungry bats mouth. This is all very amazing but I hope I never, ever encounter a Vampire Bat.
