Driving home from church last night was actually easier than the morning commute. Linda had zero slips or slides at 9:15 p.m. The sidewalk and steps up to our house were totally ice slicked so she had to walk up the hill on the grass. She is so glad she went to church because all but 2 babies showed up and it was a nice night of fellowship with the other workers. It was also the first night in a long while where not one baby cried during the entire time! They could actually hear the service over the speakers that are piped into the ceiling.
In all the times Linda has watched Penny, she can count the number of times Penny cried on one hand, and shes only pitched one fit. That is when Linda turned off her show (Mickey Mouse Road House) so they could eat lunch. Oh, and the time at the farm Linda put her in the tree stump for a picture.

"Nana! Get me out of this tree stump!" She didn't think this was one bit fun. |

The ice storm that has hit our area has closed all the area schools. That means Linda's morning classes are canceled. She stayed in bed until 7 a.m. because she wanted it to be light enough not to fall down the deck steps carrying us outside. The wood stairs are encrusted in ice and neither Chim or I can manage them. To be safe, she carried one of us at a time up and down because she could barley keep her own footing. Now she wishes she bought some pet-safe ice melt. Just in case you don't know what an ice covered deck looks like...
The steps are even worse! She's thinking she shouldn't have shoveled the deck path and steps yesterday. It might have been better to walk on the crunchy snow than the ice crusted wood. Hopefully she'll only have to do take us down once more this morning before it melts enough to be safe.
There are a lot of people in our area without power this morning from lines icing over. We are keeping our paws crossed that we keep our electricity! If not I guess we'll just all put our winter coats on and snuggle under the blankets.
