"Size Matters Not" Yoda

Two very unlucky squirrels were the cause of fires this week. In NJ, a squirrel (let's call him Rocky) was gnawing on a power line connected to a transformer directly above a Toyota Camry. The kamikaze squirrel chewed through the wire, caught on fire and went careening down to the car below landing in the engine compartment. The car blew up. No one was injured but Rocky, who unfortunately died in the mishap. The family who owns the car is making a little grave and tombstone for him in the front yard as a Halloween decoration. In a separate incident on the West coast, another squirrel.. we'll call her Rikki, also caught on fire from chewing on a power line. Rikki fell on to dry vegetation and started a massive fire which took 8 trucks hours and hours to put out. We have 3 squirrels who live in our back yard and run up and down out fence. One day 2 of the daredevils were running right at each other playing chicken. One of them jumped clear over the other and kept running on the fence never slowing down. It was amazing! I am just a little scared they will chew on our electric wires and set our house on fire.
