Linda came close to breaking the record for the longest time she ever spent in bed. The record is still the two full days after the total knee replacement surgery a few years back. This was a 24-hour stomach flu. She went to bed yesterday morning around 10:30 a.m. and didn't leave (except to go to the bathroom) until 8:00 a.m. this morning. There isn't a TV in her bedroom, but she watched a few Netflix TV shows on the laptop, read, napped off and on, ate crackers and then turned off the light at 9:00 p.m. She slept for 11 hours straight last night. Her stomach is better, but she just feels weak and drained. So many hours of not eating or moving much is making it feel like her head is a helium balloon not attached to her body. Can your muscles atrophy in 24 hours? Right now she couldn't even do one ab crunch, push-up or walk to the mail without a lot of effort. A day of normal eating should restore her energy.
