Penny's 5K Training

"Nana, I'm ready for my first 5K"
Guess why Penny is so happy?  She is mostly always smiling, giggling and a very cheerful baby (except when she is hungry and over tired, but even then she'll calm down quickly.)  This time she is so happy because she has on her new cross-training sneakers!  They look adorable on her chubby little feet.  It got Linda inspired to buy her a workout outfit to go with her sneakers.
Penelope will soon be sporting her own Nike "Just Do It" running skort and tee shirt!  The cool air-wicking fabric and easy mobility around her legs will surly increase her speed and endurance. Linda is going to try and get some video of her walking tonight.  Some infants will flail their feet if you hold their hands and it looks like walking.  Penny actually deliberately controls her legs to move forward and will walk purposefully towards her goal. If she can already do this at just 4 months, maybe she'll walk before she crawls.  Linda says it's partly due to Penelope's weekly Thursday personal training sessions.  Since she's been a few days old, Linda has been stretching her, working on her core strength, assisting her on doing leg presses and working on balance.  This same training regimine worked with Tierney. Tier was walking alone at 9 months!  Penny's Daddy took his time walking, but once he did at 12 months, he immediately started shooting hoops with his little basketball setup, pitching his baseball and putting golf balls with the little club his Daddy cut down for him.
