We are here to serve
I am very smart. I know a lot of words and actions. One of my more unusual commands is "elevator". That means jump in Linda's hand to get up on the big bed. "Get my shoes on" means it's time to go for a walk. Some other things I know the meaning of are supper; cookie; kitchen; pee-pee pad; Choopie's bed; No! That's the cats food; get Choopie's toy; carry?; fetch; sit; roll over; shake and stay. If you are impressed with that, listen to this. There is a wheel-chair bound solider named Alan who is a veteran of the Gulf War. He adopted an 11-week old puppy to keep him company. By accident, one day the puppy dropped something in his lap. He praised the dog, Endal. Endal did it again and again. Before long Endal learned to do some pretty amazing things. In the morning, he uses his teeth to pull back the covers. Then he uses his head to push Alan's legs off the bed to help him sit up. Endal can turn the lights on, help with the wash, help him get dressed. He fetches his plate, knife and fork. He helps Alan buy the newspaper, go to the ATM and brings him the phone. Good dog Endal!
