Years ago, Linda had a Ball Python snake. It wasn't very big, just 3 feet long. His name was Rocky because he loved to lay in his cage on his heated rock. Linda would take him outside and let him play in the grass on sunny days. Rocky also loved the vacuum vibrations. During Friday on cleaning day, he loved to wrap around Linda's neck while she pushed the vacuum. One day he figured out how to get out of his cage. He tried to eat one of the cats, Linda can't remember if it was Pumpkin, Licorice or Chip. Rocky had the cat cornered and was reared up to strike when Linda heard the cat screaming. She was able to snatch the cat away, but Rocky took off. It took Linda, Tierney and Taylor hours to catch him. After that scare, he went to live somewhere else. Good thing too because we saw a horrible news story today. An 18 foot long python tried to eat a 3-year old boy in Las Vegas. His parents were pet sitting the snake for a friend. The python got loose and went after the boy. He wrapped in his coils around him and was squeezing away. The mother came running in the room and started hacking the snake with a big kitchen knife. The little boy was not hurt, but the snake died. If Rocky still lived here and escaped again, I would be python kibble.
