1. Linda voted in under 10 minutes. That was from the time she pulled into the parking lot and pulled back out. Her friend who is a County cop told her that near Tierney's work (same county, different area) the line was wrapped twice around the high school with people waiting to vote. Another guy in her morning class said he waited for 2 hours, different location in the county... at the same exact time Linda voted. I know American people wait in line overnight for an iPad, movie, or Black Friday sales. The idea of being in a line for hours upon hours might be enough to make Linda not vote. Good thing she wasn't faced with that option.
2. There is paving on the main road to our house and traffic was detoured. On the way home from the gym, Linda took lots of back roads and wound through neighborhoods. She saw 80% Romney signs in yards. (Yes, she kept count.) There was also a giant deer meandering on the front lawn of a house like he was the families pet. Just grazing away not caring one single bit how the election will turn out. He was grazing near a Romney sign though.
3. A woman in her sculpt class told her a bunch of places were giving free food if you had your "I Voted" sticker. The second she turned on her car, the news station had a story how it's illegal to give free food or merchandise based on if you voted or not. I guess you can just say "I didn't vote but I want my donut" and they have to give it to you.
4. Linda didn't know this: Donkey vrs Elephant Logo
5. She is not expecting too many people in her afternoon and evening classes since people will either be voting or watching TV awaiting results.
6. If I could vote, I'd vote for Princess Penelope!
Her slogan: "Puppies and Kitties for all!" |
