For tonight's walk, Linda had to break out her L.L. Bean Baxter State Parka. For those not familiar with the parka, it is rated to -45 below 0. Most people would sweat like they were in a sauna, but not Linda. She starts wearing it when the temp drops below 40. In fact, she has kept it on in church for an entire service a few times when the sanctuary was really cold. I didn't have to ride inside it tonight, but when there is snow on the ground or its freezing, you can find me tucked inside while we go for a walk. (Linda walks, I get carried.) Chim had to wear the pink sweater again tonight because his brown coat from last year is falling off him. He has probably topped out at 15 pounds, but he seems longer and skinnier than last year. If they made a Doggie Baxter, she would buy it for him. His Mexican Chihuahua blood makes him shiver in the winter.
If you are always cold and love a warm coat, the parka is worth every penny. She actually has two of them! The one that is 15 years old works just as good as the newer one. For Christmas, Linda is going to buy herself the Baxter gloves and extra warm Bomber hat. You can never be too warm on our winter walks.
