Another dog saves the day, or in this case an 11-year old boy. Austin was out in his backyard getting firewood from a shed when his dog Angel suddenly got nervous. She would not leave the boys side as he carried load after load of wood into the house. As Austin was about to pick up some more wood, a cougar came charging out of the woods straight at the boy. Angel jumped over the lawnmower meeting the cougar in the air, preventing the cat from landing on the boy. Austin ran inside to get his Mom and call 911. Officers quickly arrived and found the cougar and Angel still going at it. They shot the giant cat dead, but Angel escaped with non-life threatening injuries. (I wish they would have used a tranquilizer dart instead of killing the cat.) I am very glad that both Austin and Angel will be fine.
