Mother, daughter and the faces of Penny

If Linda ever wants to have an outfit coordinated picture with Tierney, she just has to wear navy, white, red or leopard.  There is a 99% chance that Tierney will wear one, or a combination of those colors to church. Look how they matched this morning!  A few years ago, Linda didn't think that she looked anything like Tierney.  Everyone told her that Taylor looked more like her.  Now, She can really see the resemblance between the two of them, especially in the smile, hair (of course that could change) and body type.  Tier is a way better picture-poser than Linda is though.   Linda also snapped this scrunchy face picture of Penny this morning at church.

Penny has a lot of different camera faces.

Bored: "What, you seriously want me to smile?"

Smirk: "Don't try and feed me squash again Mommy"

Pout: "You would pout to if you had to wear a wolf hat"

Ewwww: "Get that Chimi dog out of my face..."

Crazed: (I have no idea what she was thinking here)

Happy:  "I love my Mommy!"

Linda loves this photo of Penny.  Its so sweet you get a tooth ache looking at it.

Hiking and Naps

Linda was just wishing she had some new Penelope pictures to post when she opened her email and found these new photos.  Of course this one made Linda a wee-bit nervous.  Sarah and Taylor love to hike, and lots of time Taylor carries Penny on his back.  This is the carry-me pack Linda got them for Christmas.  You can't really see, but Penelope is a little papoose on his back.  Taylor said after 8 miles of rock scrambling and hiking uphill, he was pretty tired.  If Linda tried this hike, she would be napping for hours.

Kind of like Chimi.  He has been snoozing on Linda's lap under the blanket.

This would be such a cute setting. Linda has a metal pail and Pen has pink cowboy boots.  Now we just need a straw hat.  In a few weeks Linda's grass will look just like this straw, so we can take the photo in the backyard.

Late Night Visitors

Typically, our doorbell never rings at 9:15 p.m.  Linda almost didn't answer the door. Tonight she could tell by our barking that it was someone we knew.  Surprise!  Penelope was at the door!!  They came over to visit with Nana.  Pen was full of energy because she took a 3 hour nap and didn't wake up until 7 p.m.  She was so glad to see me that she squealed!  It took her a second to warm up to Chimi, but by the time she left it was fine.

Sarah and Taylor rearranged Linda's bedroom set.  Now there is so much more room. On the other walls are the tall armoire and nightstand.  Chimi is totally confused and has been standing in the middle of the room stumped.  It's going to feel like Linda's sleeping in a hotel tonight because it looks so different. 

Watching Hoarders on TV really is making Linda want to clean out some draws, closets and cabinets.  Yikes.  It's kind of giving her a creepy-crawling feeling. I think she better turn it off or she'll have nightmares. 

Barking for Penny

Sarah told Linda that Penny loves to watch the videos of me barking.  Last night they watched my blog videos over and over. We made this tonight just for her!  She does her "HeHeHe" laugh every time she hears me bark.  Hopefully this one will make her laugh too.  Chim howls like a wolf, which is weird because Chihuahua's usually yip-yip-yip.

"But I WANT the puppy!"

Penelope and her Nana had a great time today.  They went for a walk with "Bob" as soon as Linda got there.  (Bob is a jogging stroller.  If you are a runner and have a baby, you need a Bob too.)  Penny was getting sleepy when the looped back around to come home and was dozing off until she heard the puppy.  It was a little Plott Hound.  The puppy was so adorable and playful. (The lady had it off leash which isn't very smart when you are close to a street.)  It tried to eat Linda's shoelaces.  Penny even practiced her "down" sign.  I wish Linda took a picture of the pup.  It was a little smaller than Chimi but it's paws were the size of my head.  It's going to grow into a big dog!

They had been gone awhile, it was hot and almost lunch time.  Linda tried to put her back in the stroller (unsuccessfully.)  There was no way she was leaving that puppy!  Linda had to push the stroller and carry her a few houses before Penny would get down and walk.  When they got back to the TH, she was still pointing back down the street to go see the pup.

Tuesday Wrap-Up

Those eyes!  That cute nose!  That purple mustache!  Penelope loves to drink her parents smoothies.  Sarah makes them with spinach, kale, apples and whatever fruit she has on hand.  She even got Linda hooked on them.  Every morning before classes, Linda makes a veggie/fruit smoothie. Lately she has been using organic carrot juice instead of water.  They are supper yummy and so healthy.  Back in the olden days, Linda would eat a bagel and cream cheese or muffin for breakfast (if she ate any at all.)  Now she craves her healthy drink instead.  She still eats some sugary desserts, like last night with her friend at Sweet Frog. 

Both Chim and I also have cut way back on our treats.  We get one little cookie 2 or 3 times a week. Half the time he eats mine before I can get to it.  In other news...

Jerry before he got a big-boy haircut.

Jerry came to walk us tonight while Linda was teaching.  He has missed the last 3 times because of work or going out of town.  It's a good thing he was able to come because Linda's quad is doing the jittery shake and shes not up to walking us.  Sometimes the tremor is mild, but tonight its jumping so hard you can actually see the muscle twitching.  It doesn't really hurt, it just feels like a dozen hamsters are running under her skin up and down the muscles. 

"Stop eating my cookies Chimi"   "Who me??"

P.S.  Update:  Linda actually googled "quadriceps muscle quivering" because it's been jumping and twitching for over an hour.  No matter how much she stretches it or shakes her leg out, the muscle is spazzing out.  Dr. Google said it could be everything from emotional stress (not in Linda's case); lack of fiber??, over-training & fatigue or dehydration.  Linda is thinking it's the last two since she did a bunch of classes today. 

Proverbs 31

This is such a great tee shirt.  She wants to order for herself, and matching shirts for Sarah, Tierney, Penelope.  Its not KJV  scripture, but it definitely conveys the point.  During the Race for Hope, a team of runners were all wearing this shirt in honor of one of the brain tumor survivors.  This tee comes from one of Tier's favorite scriptures   (You'll have to read the scripture here) Sarah is an amazing Mom and double amazing wife to Taylor.  Linda feels like she has a long way to go before she is true Proverbs 31 woman, but she is striving towards that goal! 

Linda was so thankful on Mother's Day.  She is incredibly blessed to have such an amazing family.  Taylor even surprised her and joined Tier and Linda's normal Sunday breakfast time.  Yay!

The kids gave her great cards, pictures and Sarah picked these lilacs for Linda today.  I wish your screen had a scratch and sniff feature.  The whole house smells wonderful.   (P.S. Penny has perfected her "down" hand sign to Chimi.)
