I Promise to Protect You

Yesterday I wrote about a little boys service dog that saves his life by sniffing out peanuts. Today, another dog is helping to save a little boys life. The 13-year old has had horrible brain seizures since he was 2-years old. His dog, Promise, is trained to alert his parents minutes before the seizure starts. He can detect a certain smell that a seizure is about to begin. Whoa! That is pretty amazing. The boy just underwent brain surgery because the seizures had gotten so bad. This beloved dog was with him when we woke up from the horrible surgery. After a few speed bumps where nurses made the dog leave the ICU, he was bought back in to keep his charge calm and comforted. Way to go Promise, you are doing a wonderful thing.
