Linda spent some time this evening with Gretel and her 2 day old baby. Baby Noah is just the most adorable baby ever. He is almost 10 pounds and 22 inches long. She looks so happy holding him. Ever since Taylor and Tierney, she has wanted another baby. I think if it was at all feasible, she would adopt a baby right now. She'll just have to wait until Sarah and Taylor have a baby for her to spoil. For the time being, I am her baby. Even though it is cold out tonight AND she was tired from two classes today, she still took me for a long walk at 8:30 p.m. It was so dark we could not see where we were going. There is a leash that has a built in flash light right on the handle. We might have to buy that since it is getting dark so early now. Then, instead of heading out to a friends house for a little party, she decided to stay home with me and snuggle. Life is Good. I am one spoiled little Chalupa.

Mama

I had to tell Linda to take a chill pill tonight. The last few Thursdays, she has been obsessed with getting home from her class in record time. She finishes her last class at 7:30. After she cleans up and signs the payroll book, it is usually 7:36. Tonight, she got in her car at 7:38. She HAS to be home at 8:00 (I promised I would not tell why), and it is usually a 15-20 minute drive. The last few weeks she did it in under 15 minutes. Tonight, it took her exactly 11 minutes! She hit all the lights and there wasn't traffic. She was so hyped up that she made it so fast, she forgot all about my supper. She felt bad I had to wait, so she even chopped up one little shrimp in my regular meal. It was so good, I hope she forgets to feed me more often. (I googled chihuahua and shrimp and this photo came up. I'm not sure what it has to do with shrimp, but it's pretty darn cute!)

Scared of the Scarecrow
It was downright freezing this morning during my walk. There was frost on the grass and we could see our breath! My coat from last year is a little bit small on me, it must have shrunk in the wash. (Except Linda said it hadn't been washed at all. Ummm... I wonder why it is tight then?) We went down a different street then we normally walk and I saw this horrifying scarecrow in someones yard. I would not walk past it. Linda picked me up and showed me it was not scary, but I still would not even look at it. I don't like all this Halloween nonsense. People ringing the doorbell 20 times an hour. That just made me crazy.

Hope it Was Soap on a Rope

This past Saturday a family was surprised to find a burglar hiding in the attic. Police were called and they found a 47-year old man hiding in the attic with the loot he stole from the families home. It wasn't money, jewelry, or anything you would normally think a burglar would steal. In the mans hand was a little bar of soap shaped like a bear. Imagine what will happen when he goes to jail and tells his mates that he is in prison for stealing a teddy bear soap? Yikes.

Say It Isn't So!

I just read some bad news this morning. You all know my obsession with the empty roll from the toilet paper. I would rather play with that then any other toy. Every time someone uses the bathroom at my house, I wait outside the door with excited anticipation. I'm always sad when the door opens and the paper tube does not appear. Now, the dumb companies are making the toilet paper rolls without the cardboard tube! What!! And there's more. If the new concept is accepted by consumers, paper towels won't have cardboard rolls either! This is just not acceptable. Plus, how in the world will the roll stay round and spin once you are near the end?

No More Monkey Business
Bat Dog

This is truly a heart warming story with an amazing ending. Rowan, a German Spitz Dog, was born without eyeballs. The vet said he should be euthanized because his quality of life would pretty much suck. His owner would not entertain putting Rowen down. Instead, the puppy learned to bark and then listen to the echos to help him run, play and walk around the house. Rowen is now 1 1/2 years old and you would never know that he is totally blind. He can run and play with all the other dogs. Rowen uses something that bats use to get around called echolocation. I'm happy for him, but it would be pretty hard on the humans to listen to non-stop barking. If I went blind, Linda would just carry me everywhere.
